FITA Floripa – Animation Theater

The International Festival of Animation Theater (Festival Internacional de Teatro de Animação – FITA) had its first edition in 2007 in Florianópolis. FITA has the mission to take animation theater to the general public and encourage artists to appropriate this artistic language, which includes masks, puppets, shadows and objects, among other scenic elements.

With a program designed for different audiences and social groups, the Festival includes performances and educational activities. Each year, FITA carries out the Festival in its totality or through specific actions, such as the Mostra de Rua [Street Show] in 2021, taking the Animation Theater to theaters, schools, squares and streets of the city.

The Festival is organized by the Fazendo Fita Art Company and funded by the Florianópolis City Hall, with institutional support from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC), through its Office of Culture, Arts and Sports (SeCArtE) and the School of Communication and Arts (CCE).
